IDENDEN T303

SELF-ADHESIVE BRIGHT FOIL TAPE

Uses

  • Idenden T303 Self-Adhesive Bright Foil Tape is the market leading product for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning and asbestos abatement sectors. The high standards of reliability, strength and durability mean it is now used for diverse applications in many other sectors, for example process plant, marine and offshore.
  • Idenden T303 is manufactured to the highest specifications and is coated with a high tack rubber/resin adhesive system and protected by a removable release paper.
  • Idenden T303 is the first choice of contractors and specifiers and is ideal for most HVAC applications.
  • Idenden T303 provides unrivalled performance, maintaining insulation efficiency by protecting against the effects of fire, moisture and dust. It is easy to apply, exhibiting instant adhesion and can be moulded to any profile. The final bond has high shear strength and the foil promotes the optimum balance of surface conformity and tensile strength. This makes it ideal for lap sealing foil faced insulation materials, metal and duct sealing, asbestos abatement tenting and other general purpose applications.

Application

1. Surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and loose materials. If necessary, wipe surfaces sparingly with a cloth dampened with a ketone-free cleaner such as Evo-Stik Cleaner 4 and allow to dry for at least an hour before tape application.

2. The butt joints of insulation sections should be positioned together without gaps to ensure an adequate bond.

3. Select a tape width suitable for the application. A width of 50 mm is suitable for closely positioned, flat sections. Otherwise, select a tape the thickness of the insulation plus 50 mm to allow for the exposed cut edge.

4. Remove the release paper from a section of the tape, taking care not to touch the adhesive surface. Align the tape centrally over the joint. Pull the tape taut and then press down well over the entire joint area. Rub the tape to remove any wrinkles or folds.

NOTE: Idenden T303 Self-Adhesive Bright Foil Tape is intended for joint sealing applications only, and is therefore not suitable for use where the joint is subject to mechanical stress. In this instance, insulation should be fixed using a suitable adhesive or hanger system.
