SB COLLE CARRELAGE

Cementitious tiling adhesive for interior floors and walls

Tiling

Uses

SB COLLE CARRELAGE is a tiling adhesive suitable for fixing small and large format ceramic tiles on interior floors (up to 2,000 cm², i.e. 44x44 cm) and walls (20×30, i.e. 600cm²). Maximum tile weight for walls = 30kg/m².
Suitable for tiles with porosity more than 0.5%.
Requires compulsory double side application for tile size more than 20×20.
Suitable for ceramic tiles, vitrified tiles and terracotta tiles (10×10cm)

Interior floors: suitable for application on concrete slabs, cement-screed or floating screed, special plasterboards.

Interior walls: suitable for application on cement-based coating, plasterboards.

Not suitable for low porosity tiles (< 0.5%): porcelain tiles, thin fully vitrified tiles.

APPLICATION PRECAUTIONS

Do not use under rain or on substrates exposed to direct sunlight or wind.
By hot and dry weather, pre-wet the substrates 1 to 2 hours before tiling.
Clean the tools with water before the adhesive gets dry.

Consumption:

4 to 7 kg/m² according to application method and tile size.

Safety:

IMPORTANT: before embarking on any work involving SB COLLE CARRELAGE the separate Product Safety Data Sheet must be studied carefully by those carrying out the work.
Observe good hygiene in use. Keep out of reach of children and animals. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

Shelf life:

Up to 1 year in unopened original packaging, stored in dry conditions, protected from sunlight.

Application

SUSBSTRATE PREPARATION

As a general rule and in compliance with professional rules, substrates must be even, clean, dry and free of grease and alkaline laitance.
CAUTION: Not suitable for gypsum and gypsum coatings.

If necessary localised levelling may be carried out using SB COLLE CARRELAGE up to 5mm thickness. Tiles should be fixed after 24-48 hours depending on ambient conditions.

Pre-wet very absorbent substrates before adhesive application.

APPLICATION

Mixing ratio: 6 litres of clean water for 25kg.
Mix manually or using an electric drill with a mixing paddle (maximum 500 rpm) until a homogeneous lump-free mixture is obtained. Wait for 10 minutes and remix (do not add water).
Use a notched trowel to spread and adjust the thickness of the tiling adhesive on the substrate, working no more than 1 to 2 m² at a time.
Use double side application process for interior tiles with formats greater than 20×20, i.e. 400 cm².
Position the tiles on the adhesive within specified open time and press / tap or roll over them to ensure a perfect transfer.
Allow the adhesive to set completely (24 hours minimum) before grouting.
